The University of Granada is one of the most important in Spain. Founded in 1528 by the most European of the Spanish kings, the emperor, Carlos I of Spain and Carlos V of Germany. This university was inherited by the old Madraza, the Islamic University, created by the Sultan Yusuf I, several centuries before. Today, the University of Granada has some 70,000 students integrated from universities all over Spain and the world. The university's presence in the city has given it a very active and exciting night life. |
